Kam S. Phillips is the Founder and Chief Executive Dreamer of Dream Outside the Box. As a first generation college student, Kam realized the unique outlook her experiences in areas such as Rodeo, Skiing, and Ballet Folklorico dancing provided and as result, created DOTB as a freshman at the University of Missouri (“Mizzou”). The Harry S. Truman Scholar and Mortar Board member obtained a degree in Social Work with a minor in Leadership & Public Service. Kam also represented Dream Outside the Box as Mizzou’s 100th anniversary Homecoming Queen. In her free time, she works on state and local public policy and enjoys ranching alongside her parents.
John Walton Brookman is a Fort Worth, Texas native and practicing attorney for more than 25 years. He has invested time in Fort Worth youth as both a youth football coach for 20 years and Former Chairman of the Communities in Schools of Greater Tarrant County Board. He is the proud father to 5 energetic children and husband to Bari.
Newton Davis is a consultant, urbanist, and entrepreneur who currently works as a business analyst in Accenture’s management consulting practice. As the founder and General Manager of Urban Unchained, an organization focused on promoting bikes as the vehicle for the 21st century, he focuses on leveraging technology and community organizing principals to create movements and sustainable communities. He’s a 2012 graduate of Williams College and currently resides in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He is also a 2011 Truman Scholar.
Ginger Head Gearheart is the Founder and Executive Director emeritus of Imagination Celebration of Fort Worth. Imagination Celebration Fort Worth Inc. is an independent non-profit organization, which has raised in excess of $7,000,000 over the past nineteen years to provide arts and cultural experiences for over 5,000,000 young people and professional development training to over 16,000 teachers since the organization’s inception. Ginger now lends her expertise to efforts across the city and enjoys spending time with her family including precious grandchildren.
Breana Jones is a multimedia journalist currently residing in New York City, New York. A military child, she was born in Los Angeles, California and spent her childhood in multiple countries, including Germany and Japan. While studying broadcast journalism at the University of Missouri, she discovered her love of service through the new and burgeoning organization: Dream Outside the Box. Eventually she was entrusted with the role as the first Director of Public Relations for the Columbia, Missouri chapter of DOTB. She is currently studying journalism at New York University with a focus on social justice issues.
Clif Mattix is the Wish Granter and Chief Operating Officer of Ilfusion Creative. He is a high-integrity, energetic leader known for his ability to envision and create successful outcomes in complex situations. He excels in brand positioning, revenue growth, financial management and driving operational excellence. Clif also serves on the board of the Hope Center for Autism and the Botanic Gardens of Fort Worth.
Sydnea Redwine recently relocated to Aldi Foods-Dallas Division having worked for 2 years as a District Manager with Aldi Foods-Chicago Division. She obtained a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing at the University of Missouri. Sydnea is interested in researching gender and cultural influences on job satisfaction and the implications of strategic management at state and local education levels.
Emily Schlichting is a 2012 graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Emily currently resides in Washington, DC where she works for the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. She also currently serves as the Director of Events for the National Campus Leadership Council and on the Board of Directors for Bold Nebraska. Previously, Emily has worked at the Center for American Progress, in the US Senate, the Nebraska state legislature. She is also a 2011 Truman Scholar.
